New Management Offices
Washington, DC
Poulos Architectural Design in partnership with TOBE DesignGroup developed the program for a new office space for an apartment building management and leasing company. The entity had decided to move from a leased space to a space in one of their buildings that currently houses and obsolete community room/restaurant. The existing community room, adjacent building management office and an underutilized residential storage room were redesigned to accommodate 8 offices, a meeting room and an office storage room arranged around a central reception and circulation space. Glass doors and windows were added to filter light to the interior spaces that did not have direct access to exterior windows. The space links to the building central corridor and elevators and to the exterior via glass doors to the courtyard and a building side entry via a raised stair landing. The stair access was relocated to maximize perimeter floor area for private office use. A majority of existing office furniture was reused with a new casework designed for reception and for the shared offices.
